About The Event

Celebrate Israel Parade in NYC is scheduled for next Sunday, June 2nd.

I am looking forward to next Sunday's Celebrate Israel parade up Fifth Avenue. Watching Jewish motorcyclists in this parade many years ago inspired me to start riding. The rest, as they say, is history.

We will be meeting at Bagels & Co. on the corner of Amsterdam Avenue and 79th Street. For those in my neck of the woods in NJ, Dr. Charlie and I will leave from his office at 9:00 am and will make a stop at the Coach Diner on Route 4 at 9:30 am to pick up riders who assemble there. From there we will cross the GW bridge and catch up with the crowd in Manhattan. The official meetup time at Bagels & Co is 10:30 am. Please be there no later than 11:00 AM as we will depart for line up. Last year we left at about 11:15- 11:30 am. Step off is usually a little after 1:00 PM but all must get there with the group leaving from Bagels and Co. (We usually convince the parade organizers to let us go a few minutes early.) Police will be checking licenses, registration and possibly insurance. Be prepared to show documentation if asked. The Police routinely vet the motorcyclists.

Usually we line up and step off into the parade at 54th Street and 5th Avenue. However, this is subject to change based on parade and security needs. You CANNOT first meet up there. If you haven't been vetted by the police at Amsterdam and 79th Street, you will not be allowed to enter at the step off point.

We have been put into the lineup so as to be broadcast on TV and internet. Smile as you pass the grandstands as you will be filmed.

Non-member guests and non compliant Chai Riders will be charged $20.00 . The money is raised because we are charged a permit fee to participate in the parade. This is one of our big expenses for the year.
