Mark your calendar now Thursday April 30th to Sunday May Sunday May 3rd
This will be a very special R2R, so wax down your surf board, get out your baggies, and Huarachi sandals too, and start planning for Californi-a.
The organization that this years R2R is supporting is the Butterfly Project.
The Butterfly Project (Zikaron V’Tikvah ~ Hebrew for Remembrance and Hope) was co-founded in 2006 by educator Jan Landau and artist Cheryl Rattner Price. Jan and Cheryl started this as an initiative at San Diego Jewish Academy to take Holocaust education out of the textbook and bring it to life in a way that inspires students to make the world a better place.
The host hotel will be the San Diego Del Mar DoubleTree. The details along with general R2R registration information will be announced in the next newsletter coming out before the Holidays, but it is not too soon to start making your travel plans.
A word about travel; With most of us living east of the Mississippi and in many cases cold climates at that, the California venue presents some challenges as well as opportunities. Let’s talk about the opportunities first. You get to ride in some of the most interesting and fun parts of North America. The Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert , the Sierra Nevada’s , the California coast. For many of us this will be the trip of a lifetime.
The challenges for many of us are obvious. Crossing the continent can take a lot of time and resources which many of us do not have. Stay tuned, details for possible travel plans will be in the newsletter coming out shortly, as well as details on the entire R2R.
This R2R promises to be exceptionally meaningful and fun. You do not want to miss it. More details to follow;
In the mean time, here are the bike rental links.

And for something totally different for R2R2020, I have booked a "training session" with Caliber 3 Israeli Counter Terror and Security Academy following lunch on Friday afternoon. Our family spent a few hours at their facility in Israel and found it incredibly informative, entertaining, and was a great experience.
Learn about counter terrorism in Israel and around the world from IDF experts in the field. Discuss security for your religious institutions. Watch or participate in a Krav Maga training session.
Where: Caliber 3 San Marcos
When: Friday May 1, 14:30-16:00 We will leave as a group from lunch and should be back in plenty of time for Shabbat.
Open to: First 20 registered R2R participants who PM me (Facebook Friends) or leave a comment. This is not a guys only event!!! You must commit to attend.
